8 taken into police custody after a rash of robberies

Eight men were taken into custody in Florida after a rash of local robberies in Aug. One 40-year-old man reported that he was jogging when three men approached him at gunpoint and confiscated his iPod, wedding band and a watch valued at $150. After the , they escaped in a waiting car as a fourth man drove them away from the crime scene. He added that they told him to leave without looking back or risk being shot. Another walker in the area expressed her new-found hesitation of walking, especially if she sees someone she doesn't recognize.

Church gift shop robbed by man in baggy pants

A Florida man was arrested after he attempted to rob a church in baggy pants. The 31-year-old man, who had been praying in the sanctuary of the church near Walt Disney World, allegedly attempted to steal the cash drawer from the church's gift shop. Though the amount of money that was taken was not released, church officials say that their gift shop is the largest in the southeastern U.S.

Suspected Bank Robber Apprehended In St. Johns County

U. S. Marshals tracked an alleged bank robber to southern Florida and apprehended him on Sept 9. The man has been accused of committing one bank robbery and suspected in two others in the state of Florida. He is currently in custody and awaiting formal charges.

Florida man convicted of multiple drug charges

A Florida man was convicted on several drug charges after a two-day trial. According to the report, the man was taken into police custody after law enforcement officers allegedly discovered drugs and a large sum of cash in a safety box in his apartment in 2012. Officers also discovered approximately $4,000 on his person when they took him into custody.
