2 separate drug raids result in arrest of 21 people

The Unified Drug Enforcement Strike Team raided a Florida home and took nine people into custody on Feb. 20 after neighbors complained about possible drug activity. The individuals, who ranged in age from 23 to 39 and included both men and women, faced a number of charges, including drug possession, the sale of crack cocaine and possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony. Active arrest warrants were in place for at least three people, two of whom lived at the residence. Six additional people were detained after they attempted to buy drugs from the other parties.

2 Tampa men accused of stealing from construction sites

On Feb. 6, police accused two Tampa men with stealing materials from the contractor they worked for and using those materials to remodel the home of one of the men. The 30-year-old and 25-year-old men both worked for a company that had been subcontracted by KB Homes. According to police, the two men had worked late at construction sites on multiple occasions and had taken items such as granite counter tops, appliances and molding.

Police say dead alligators, meth, pot plant found in Florida home

Police recently seized two frozen alligators from a Lake Wales, Florida, home as well as a fish not allowed by law, a marijuana plant and a sizable quantity of methamphetamine. Two men of ages 32 and 29 and a 24-year-old woman in the home were taken into custody. The younger man and the woman were reportedly a couple, but the other man was apparently only visiting them when authorities raided the house.

Florida family members arrested in drug bust

After serving a warrant, police have arrested three members of a family living on Stock Island on drug charges. Police from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and several other law enforcement agencies, including the Key West police department and Homeland Security, searched the family's mobile trailers in conjunction with the arrests. They say they found large quantities of a number of drugs, including cocaine, crack cocaine and Xanax. During the search, they also say they discovered more than $75,000 in cash and 500 undersized lobster tails.
