A new operation in Pasco County, Florida, is one that you may be interested in knowing more about. The op, called “Operation Green Light,” is designed to help drivers get back on the road by eliminating unpaid court fines and fees that may limit their access to their licenses.
For example, someone who is accused and convicted of a DUI in Florida may owe fines of $500 to $1,000 just for a first offense. The court may limit access to their license until any fines are paid, which means that those drivers won’t be able to get back on the road until they can afford to pay.

Between Nov. 18 and Nov. 20, motorists can call, go online or visit the county clerk in person to pay for the fines in full. Those willing to pay in full can save up to 25% on the cost of having their licenses reinstated.
Not everyone will qualify
It is worth mentioning that not all fines will be part of the program. Some people may not qualify, like those with traffic-related felonies and certain types of DUIs, but this is handled on a case-by-case basis.
