Felony terroristic threats and Florida House Bill 1113

House Bill 1113 went into effect on October 1, 2015. US. Supreme Court to review Florida death penalty case

In Florida, as in many other states, the death penalty is a legal sanction that can be applied in cases of capital murder. But who gets to make the decision – the jury, or the judge? That is the crux of a Florida death penalty case that the U.S. Supreme Court will be considering during his current term.

When can police use deadly force on a fleeing suspect?

The recent incident from another state in which a man apparently fleeing from a police officer was killed when the officer fired his pistol at him has made headlines nationally. The role of the grand jury in Florida felonies

It is probably safe to say that the average person in Tampa would be able to give a pretty accurate response if asked to describe the role played by trial jurors in a case involving a felony charge. If nothing else, most people have watched enough crime dramas on television to know that a trial jury hears the evidence presented by the prosecutors and the defense before reaching a verdict finding the accused guilty or not guilty of the charges.

A conviction can result in varying penalties, such as prison sentences and fines.
