According to police, a Miramar man was found in a white van containing burglary tools and 15 car and truck batteries. He had allegedly been seen driving around a closed industrial park in Pompano Beach. He is facing a grand theft charge as a result of the discovery. Detectives stated that there have been several battery thefts around the Pompano Beach area since early May.
The man was spotted driving the white van by a sheriff’s deputy. The man tried to leave the area by making a U-turn on a one-way street. The deputy stopped the man on traffic violations and allegedly noticed several vehicle batteries sitting in the back of the van. When his records were checked, the deputy learned that the man’s driver’s license had been revoked in 2006. His arrest report describes him as a career offender who had recently been released on parole. He was arrested and charged with possession of burglary tools, grand theft, driving with a revoked license and loitering.
The man in this story is facing several different charges, some of them are serious, such as the grand theft charge. If he is convicted of the charges against him, he may be facing jail time or other penalties such as fines or probation.
